National Teaching Award for Crescent School Chemistry Teacher

Upper School teacher Michael Jansen was honoured as the 2017 recipient of the Beaumier Award for High School/CÉGEP Chemistry Teachers. Awarded by the Chemical Institute of Canada to a maximum of two recipients each year, this national honour recognizes teachers who demonstrate an exceptional ability to communicate knowledge and motivate students in chemistry.
Mr. Jansen has been teaching at Crescent since 1988. He serves as the head of Crescent's Science Department and is the co-author of four chemistry textbooks published by McGraw-Hill Ryerson.
